Eicon Technology, a worldwide provider of Internet access
products, today introduced the DIVA ADSL USB modem, which allows
easy connection to the Internet and to corporate networks at both
Full Rate and G.Lite speeds. Eicon's DIVA ADSL USB is one of the
first available DSL modems to include an easy-to-use Internet
security utility to help provide protection against the security
risks associated with "always on" broadband Internet connections.
Eicon's DIVA ADSL USB's interoperability with all leading DSLAMs
guarantees hassle-free connectivity and use. In keeping with
Eicon's reliability for Plug-and-Play products, the DIVA ADSL USB
requires no need for installation or support from telephone
companies or ISPs, making it ideal even for the non-technical
user. In addition, its flexibility allows users to talk on the
phone or send a fax, while surfing and downloading, all on a
single standard telephone line.

Eicon's DIVA ADSL USB includes the premier Internet security
utility, ZoneAlarm(TM) from Zone Labs Inc. (www.zonelabs.com), to
protect Internet-connected PCs against possible outside attacks -
including email-borne Visual Basic Script attachments, such as the
recent 'Love Bug' virus - even when the PC is left unattended or
while the connection is not in use.

Ease-of-Use
Eicon's DIVA ADSL USB enables users of Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98
or Windows 2000 to quickly install and configure the unit, with
little effort. There is no need to open up the PC - simply plug
the USB cable into the USB port and the ADSL cable into the
telephone jack. The DIVA ADSL USB also comes with bonus software
and has a control panel application which enables users to easily
configure and check the performance of the modem, as well as
monitor the ADSL connection.
Technical Specifications
Eicon's DIVA ADSL USB is both G.Lite and Full-Rate ADSL compliant,
and works over both ATM and Ethernet protocols. The DIVA ADSL USB
comes equipped with both an ADSL and a USB cable, and requires no
external power supply. The DIVA ADSL USB is interoperable with
all leading DSLAMs that adhere to the industry standards G.DMT
(G.992.2) and G.Lite (G.992.1), and offers support for ADSL
handshaking (G.994.1). The DIVA ADSL USB also maintains an
"always-on" digital connection, eliminating dial-up delays
associated with analog modems.
Eicon's DIVA ADSL USB is the newest addition to Eicon's line of
ADSL solutions, following the recent introduction of Eicon's DIVA
2430 Ethernet+USB ADSL Modem.
