Milo, It doesn't make a lot of sense to attribute long latency to a narrow datapath. Usually "latency" refers to the latency of the first word. However, evidence is mounting that the T-Bird L2 is not optimal. They probably threw together something that was easy to implement, and safe. Maybe Mustang will have a fast L2??? Scumbria
