Rich: Re: "why do you think Bob is so adamant about the fact that we will resume the downward trend at the end of this August upturn...in the nasdaq-that is..."

Bob is obviously treating this as a bear market in the Nasdaq. And in analyzing bear markets, there are bear market rallies. And in bear market, all bear market rallies fail at some point.

Re: "I think that we following a well scripted response to what has happened time after time in financial markets...that Bob believes will play out no matter what.....thoughts?"

Again, can't speak for Bob. IMO he views the market is as discounting the future and the Nasdaq had discounted any future bad news at that point on May 24th. So he saw the rally as a foregone conclusion pretty much no matter what. People were fixated on the day-to-day events but this did not matter so much to him at that point. Moreover, we got some good economic news and this propelled the move forward in time IMO.

Bear market rallies fail and they probably have some average duration. He will look for overbought conditions technically IMO at some point in conjunction with his time line thinking before making a sell decision.
