DataMirror Introduces Breakthrough In Wireless Technology

TORONTO, CANADA--

iTransmit(TM) Enables Wireless Administration of DataMirror
Transformation Server Via Smart-phones and Handhelds

DataMirror Corporation (TSE: DMC), a leading provider of business
data integration software, today announced that its award-winning
Transformation Server software now supports wireless
administration of data via smart-phones and mobile Internet
devices.

With iTransmit, DataMirror's wireless Enterprise Administrator,
any Transformation Server administrator with a micro-browser
equipped wireless phone or mobile Internet device can access,
monitor and manage data replication between multiple databases and
computing platforms from anywhere and at any time. iTransmit
allows IT administrators to select subscriptions from a list of
connected agents, view the replication status, check logs for
informational messages, and perform basic functions such as
starting and stopping data replication. Future releases of
iTransmit will be enhanced as the capabilities of wireless devices
mature.

"Access to information via the web with simple wireless devices is
revolutionizing the way organizations think about, manage and
publish their enterprise data," said Nigel Stokes, Chairman,
President and CEO of DataMirror Corporation. "As we enter the
post-PC era, smart-phones and wireless Internet devices are
becoming indispensable tools for keeping mobile IT people
constantly in touch with their responsibilities. iTransmit takes
the DataMirror customer experience to a new level of convenience
and efficiency by enabling access to and management of an
organization's replication network anytime, anywhere with no wires
or impediments."

DataMirror Transformation Server has become a critical component
of the IT infrastructure for many of our customers, supporting
e-Business, business intelligence and other distributed data
applications. Customers need to be able to continuously monitor
the status of data replication and act quickly to respond to
replication needs.

DataMirror's Enterprise Administrator for Transformation Server,
or EA, has already changed the way our customers manage the
end-to-end flow of business data throughout their organizations.
DataMirror's wireless Enterprise Administrator capability further
enhances the overall ease of use of Transformation Server and can
significantly reduce total cost of ownership. Other administration
tools require that the IT administrator go to the actual system
where the database or replication software resides. iTransmit
saves time while improving quality of service and overall
availability by enabling administrators to respond immediately-no
matter where they happen to be.

iTransmit is the latest in a series of DataMirror wireless
initiatives. DataMirror recently became a supporter of the SyncML
Initiative to develop and promote a new open industry
specification to allow synchronization of remote data and
information across corporate servers, Web servers, computers,
laptops, PDAs, handheld computers, mobile phones and other mobile
devices. DataMirror Transformation Server for PointBase is a pure
Java product that seamlessly integrates business data between
mobile or wireless devices equipped with the PointBase database
and enterprise data stores on a wide variety of computing
platforms.
