Petz,
This is how I'm figuring chips/week.

70% yields...K6-2 is a little over 60% and K7s are supposedly better..

8" wafer has approx. 23,400 mm2 of usable area. (due to loss around edges and saw cuts)

1000 wafers/week...current

K7 die is 120mm2.

So...(23,400/120)*.70=136.5 good die/wafer
136.5*1000=136,500 K7/week
136,500*4.3 (weeks/mo)= 586,950 good chips/mo.

So yours and Chungs estimates look good.

So if Austin repeats last quarters 1.2M Athlons...add 587k from Dresden and that's 1.787M Athlons this Q which is right in line with what Jerry said at 1.8M.

There are too wildcards however that would lead us to believe that output will exceed 1.8M...
1. An increase in output from Austin as K6-2 space is replaced by Duron.
2. Stockpiled chips from pre June production at Dresden.

So oppimistically, excess of 2M Athlon/Duron will likely be produced. My guess is abou 2.2-2.4M.
