Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN), The Internet Performance Authority(R), has been named as the fastest growing publicly held company by the San Francisco Business Times. In its annual "Top 150 Fastest Growing Public Companies Based in the Bay Area," the San Francisco Business Times measured an 826 percent overall growth rate for Keynote Systems, making it the fastest growing public company in the Bay Area.
The rankings were based on fiscal year revenue using a statistical measure called the "least squared analysis," a technique designed to smooth the peaks and drops in quarterly numbers to provide a more representative indicator of a company's true growth rate. Keynote Systems overall growth rate of 826 percent was measured by the change in the company's gross revenues between mid-1997 and the first quarter of this year.
"Keynote Systems has experienced tremendous growth as more than 1000 leading e-commerce Web sites and hosting companies have selected our performance measurement, diagnostic and consulting services," said Umang Gupta, Chairman and CEO, Keynote Systems. "Our first place ranking by the San Francisco Business Times is a significant endorsement of our management team, technology vision and ability to offer a low-cost, mission-critical service for anyone doing business on the Web."
