John F. Dowd(y), You are the man! MSFT was a $5 billion company in 89, ORCL less than that and INTC was a monopoly in a fast growing field. I would venture to say that MSFT was not even the 50th most capitalized company when you bought it. I bought some stock in 1990. It was a safe bet.

Surely, you don't think buying MSFT or any other dominant stock like CSCO, INTC, GE today, will let you generate those kind of returns ?? It has to do with the law of large numbers. Even MSFT CFO realizes that. Surely, you don't confess to be smarter than him ??
