AXCESS Introduces New Digital Video Receiver Software at Annual Shareholders Meeting, Incorporating Latest Patented Compression New Software Features Include Simultaneous Live Viewing From Web Browser DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 200-- AXCESS Inc. (Nasdaq:AXSI - news) announced today the release of version 4.20 of its popular PC Peek(TM) digital video receiver software which runs under Microsoft Windows.
The software decodes and displays live and recorded color motion video received from the entire Prism Video portfolio of remote or LAN/Internet based digital video cameras, transmitters, and recorders and will be demonstrated at the company's annual shareholder meeting today in Dallas.
The video compression codec (coder-decoder), covered in the U.S. Patent received by AXCESS in January, has been implemented. This advancement increases the video compression performance up to 20% for faster frame rates with low bandwidth consumption. Another significant feature includes an interface to off-the-shelf software for displaying live video to a web site while supporting multiple, simultaneous viewers. With many corporations expanding the use of CCTV video systems in the enterprise, the ability for multiple users to view the live video via a web browser increases the utility of the digital video system beyond security departments into administration, marketing, and operations. PC Peek 4.20 capabilities also allow for two-way compressed audio to be processed using software-only.
PC Peek 4.20 brings automated methods for viewing corporate closed circuit television (CCTV) including: automated virtual guard tours and camera sequencing; automatic event alarm recording; a snap and print function; and Pan, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ) control from the desktop interface. The software utilizes over 30 interfaces to third party PTZs, multiplexors, and matrix switches to make the integration of existing camera systems seamless, bringing live/recorded video to the desktop.
``Our VSLE compression remains the leader in fast, efficient digital video transmission and storage. This efficiency enables us to put dramatically more cameras on a given communications link or on a given storage medium than the competition. The new browser feature meets a growing market demand for multiple users to view the live video simultaneously. We are excited about introducing this feature as we have thousands of installations that can now bring live video to other departments in their organization,'' commented Ben Donohue, Director of Video Products for AXCESS Inc.
In addition to the Prism Video line of products, AXCESS' ActiveTag(TM) RFID product provides automatic identification solutions to the corporation for improving asset utilization enterprise-wide. More information on all AXCESS products is available on the company's web site www.axcessinc.com.
