Actually there are real applications around this area. For instance, what if you were reaching in for a coke and passed the can's UPC by a scanner as you drew it out of the refrigerator. Then when you refrigerator detects you are low on coke's it sends an Internet order to Webvan automatically. Then the next day or so, you see on the front porch your groceries with more coca cola. Not a bad idea, eh?
