My Graciella, let's start over. We're talking apples and oranges here.

I was qualifying what OverSold put in front of me concerning 20 MM users on Home's system accessing a movie all at the same time because AKAM was going to do some magic. It doesn't work that way. On the other hand, you are simply talking about many of the Internet's other gotchas if all of the planets and stars are not aligned just right.

Some of this planetary alignment scheme has to do with the primary SPs of the parties you mentioned, and how those SPs peer or NAP or transit, the size and tuning of their routers, etc.. too long a list. Beyond those, then you get into web acceleration schemes and distributed caching/content distribtution networks (CDNs). What does SUN use, or SI use? iDunno.
