I think maybe I misunderstood your statement of shortcoming a few posts back. I thought you were proposing that 2 heterogenous systems physically attached to the storage enclosure should be allowed to access files but maybe this is not what u were saying. I see now that maybe you were saying that the NTAP filer, although the only device with physical access to the disks, can appear to clients as either a UNIX server or an NT server. If so, my apologies. In that case you are correct and the NTAP filer does indeed have an advantage over the competition.
