Big Guy: I've researched some of Casey's recommendations. He has an uncanny ability to promote stocks at their tops and he is often in them with private placements long before you hear about it from him. His recommendations do carry weight with investors though somewhat reduced these days. For me one of the most defining things about the guy can be found by looking up his list of private placements. If you have read his newsletter for any amount of time you have weathered many of his diatribes about governments and their propensity to make war, blight on decent folk, etc. etc. Look up his list of private placements on Canada Stockwatch. Unless there is another Douglas Casey out there, he owns a private placement in an ammunition company. That says it all.
