I find it puzzling that folks are setting forth this silly egg before the chicken scenario that the W-CDMA (or DS) camp is using. Why should QCOM cross license anything to anybody? They don't need them - they have CDMA2000. People are saying but wait - DS will be a larger market. What market? If QCOM says go take a flying leap unless you pay me 4-5% then that's it. If the DS camp says no to this then there is NO DS market because they can't do it without QCOM IPR!

I'm surprised at the argument that QCOM must make a deal to get in on DS. To hell with DS - it ain't happening without QCOM. Now if you tell me they can do it without QCOM that's a whole other kettle of fish.
