Need a little input on getting a handle on new HICFA regs.
The new HICFA regs, APC 980 will take effect on Aug 1st.
It is my understanding that the Hospital will be paid $1875
plus $375 co-pay by the benneficiaries insurer for a total of $2250. The physican (this is where I get confused), will receive $600, plus the bennie's insurance
copay, in addition to the $2250 for a total reimbursement
of something higher than $2850 ( I'm assuming with the bennie's ins. co-opay the total to be around $3,000.) Since
this is lumped in APC 980 along with competing treatments,
it would seem a total slam dunk, money in the mail deal for
VIDA.
Anyone able to correct any of my figures?
