It's such a fascinating thought that in the past great powers that were deemed to be monopolies had to agree to a court ruling. They were monopolies by the fact ot their physical might. Microsoft is a power of intangible intellectual might. When there is a small hint that they might just move to Canada, they actually could do it.

Does this mean the US court has no power over MSFT, No, but it certainly creates an interesting picture.

I was interested to see that Tyco, a 23 billion dollar company is actually based in the Cayman Islands. Again, this is not unusual, but how do these regulators actually take control over companies ability to compete? Certainly, we would not like it if Intel were challanged by Spain.

Would breaking up Microsoft create a better technology world? I certainly think the Browser has been a good addition to the operating system and it has also not stopped me from using Netscape should I choose to do so.

Regards,

Mark
