Around this time last year, Dirk Meyer, who was the chief architect of the Athlon, spoke at a diner, outlining the architecture of the Athlon. Many of those who went, including Scumbria, emerged convinced that the Athlon would be superior to the then current generation of Pentiums and perhaps future variations. They were particularly pleased with the designs purported scalability, the ability to grow to higher clock rates with relative ease. That meeting convinced many to invest in AMD and the rest is history.

Good investing,
Burt
