System and board level designs of T1/E1/T3 systems for ISDL/HDSL/SDSL/ADSL transport incorporating frame relay and/or ATM back ends. Design for low cost at high volume involving heavy ASIC use. Partition complex functionality among hardware/software/ASIC.
