[World DRAM Price] DRAM Prices Rise in N. American, European Markets
June 7, 2000 (TOKYO) -- The prices of 128Mb DRAM microchips are rising in the North American and European markets.
Because 128Mb DRAM microchips for large-volume users are in high demand, it's likely that prices will soon rise in the Asian market. Meanwhile, the spot prices of 128MB DIMMs declined in the three major regions, reflecting downward trends in the prices of PCs.
According to the survey of worldwide DRAM prices conducted by ICIS-LOR, the 30-day rolling average prices up to May 19 of 128Mb DRAMs (PC133, 16M x 8) for large-volume users between April 20 and May 19 were US$14.70 in North America, US$12.78 in Europe and US$11.25 in Asia.
ICIS-LOR is based in London, Houston and Singapore.
As compared with the results of the previous period (the 30-day rolling average prices up to May 12), such prices rose 0.32 percent in North America, increased 2.40 percent in Europe, and declined 1.87 percent in Asia.
The spot prices for 128MB DIMM (PC133) memory modules declined 0.34 percent from the previous week to US$110.36 in North America, fell 1.19 percent to US$104.93 in Europe, and declined 0.32 percent to US$98.65 in Asia. |
