No question.
Radio did not completely replace television, and the
same is going to be true of wireless voice vs. data.
There is a place for both. Hard to deny that television
isn't more popular than radio, however.

As to the ASICs. Just because QCOM doesn't have a
W-CDMA ASIC in production, doesn't mean that they're not
capable. History shows us that they're the most capable.

They're just waiting on a final spec...nothing wrong with
that.

No question in my mind that when it comes to the software
end of this equation, the U.S, wins. QCOM has a very
good shot.
