The idea that the best we can hope for is to have two equally opposing parties that function simply to cancel each others proposals and initiatives to me is nihilistic. What ? I think you suffer of excessive labelitis aguda It is a FACT that the less government acts, the better off the general economy performs. Under such conditions, private enterprise has more freedom to act. The eternal government inaction when two opposing parties control the presidency and congress allows business to act under a better environment to plan for long term performance without the idiocies of continuous regulation in order to "appease" a particular (or another) political faction. Take the IRS for example, for some reason, they keep on making the code ever more complicated, so planning for changing tax rules, makes it quite difficult to have any sort of long term planning. The desire to neutralize politicians, (at least in my eyes), is opposed to the definition of Nihilism. Such inaction is a net positive for the economy, private industry, (the real engine of growth and positive change) AND as a result, for the betterment of the average six pack Joe. In other words... it creates value for most people. It builds for the future.
