Sorry I neglected to copy the text of your post instead of just responding to it with my football analogy. Here it is:

Being a leader requires you to demonstrate certain skills of leadership and management. Hiring competent or incompetent people to run your affairs reflects on your leadership ability. Being the President of the United States is a leadership position. If nothing else, the issue reflects on Gore's leadership abilities and is therefore newsworthy.

Just which bias would that be? That mainstream newspapers are more or less fair and objective most of the time? That most people are more or less fair and objective? That most people who are not fair and objective think that they are? That you fall in the last category?
