I just wanted to get an idea of the reasonability/feasibility of this power scheme. I'm not privy to any of the details/parameters but I was being quite
generous in injected power. I also assumed that some sort
of splitter at the receiver would be used to separate data
photons from power photons altho they are probably one-in-the-same--but can't be used for both purposes at the same time. The overall efficiency of the scheme appears dismal
if I understand how it might work. The idea of multiple
streams, as in WDM, not DWDM might be attractive. Data at
1300 nm, power at 1500 nm or vice-versa. Maybe even 830 nm
for power. Dunno--
