Ok Karen, let me see if I can clear up my thinking for you by asking a couple of questions. Let's assume for a minute that I am dead wrong and you're correct in the notion that the mainstream press presents a fair and objective view politically most of the time. Could this possibly happen?

If I firmly believe the mainstream press is balanced and objective and in reality they are extremely biased toward one political point of view. Could my belief of "balance and objectivity" interfere and prevent me from seeing a bias if it was occurring? Further, could this interference be construed as a bias in itself?

Let's leave aside for a minute whether it is or is not happening with regard to this issue. And stick to the premise of whether or not it's possible?

If you believe it is even remotely possible, then you have reached the substance of my allegation.

Michael
