I agree with the tone of sentiment you've expressed.

The only thing I would add as food for thought is that a persons character and leadership determines (to a large extent) whether getting any of the things you cited done is possible.

When you have a person who is divisive, untrustworthy as well as a liar, it effects the environment around which meaningful change will occur. Such was and is the case in regard to our current administration.

Leaders listen to the voices of the people and the values they cherish. Then energize and facilitate the flowering of ideas within that cultural foundation. When leadership is disconnected with the mores of the culture, engendering followship becomes extremely difficult. The impeachment episode was a reflection of that disconnection.
