Int'l Wayside appoints Hurst to board

Douglas J. Hurst was appointed to the company's board of directors. Mr.
Hurst graduated in 1986 with a BSc in Geology from McMaster University.
After working as a contract geologist, Mr. Hurst joined McDermid St.
Lawrence Limited as a mining analyst in 1987, and remained in that position
until May, 1994. From May, 1994 to October, 1995, Mr. Hurst was a mining
analyst with Sprott Securities Limited. In 1995, Mr. Hurst founded D.S.
Hurst Inc., a consulting company providing research analysis and related
corporate services to the mining and investment industry.
The board of directors of the company now comprises Richard C. Atkinson,
BA, BSc, PEng, chairman of the board, J. Frank Callaghan, president and
chief executive officer, H.K.(Ken) Maddison, FCA, chief financial officer
and Douglas J. Hurst, BSc. Mr. Maddison was in public practice as a
chartered accountant for 31 years, retiring from KPMG as a senior partner
in 1997. Messrs. Atkinson and Hurst have over 50 years of combined
experience in the mining industry worldwide.
Claud Blagdon has resigned as a director of the company. The board would
like to extend their thanks to Mr. Blagdon on behalf of all shareholders
for his contributions as a director. Mr. Blagdon will continue to be
associated with the company in the continuing operations at the Cariboo
Gold project near Wells, B.C.
