Herb,

<Now Linda if you go to the complaint page that I got this guy's problem from you would never know that the problem was with the person himself .>

I believe that human nature is to place blame on everything/everyone else for one's own problem. In looking over the posted complaints, I came up with an entirely different perspective for each.

I may step in some deep stuff here:
Let's say that someone has been layed off by a company...Normally it is because the company no longer requires their service. I do not understand why people feel that the company is SUPPOSED to employ them. When Iomega moved production facilities to Penang, the need for the employees here was lessened.

Yes, there most likely were hardships encountered. But, for people to harshly criticize the company and insult their products is not productive. Some of the energy should go into finding a new job.

As far as any technical problems with a product. I would THINK that ALL products whether mechanical or not, will sometimes be problematical. The fact that this negative site for Iomega was out there on the internet, there would appear to be excessive problems...statistically this would draw mostly the negatives.

If there was a site for pleased & happy purchasers, there would be a higher % touting the benefits and pleasures of Zip, Jaz, Ditto. Remember my cat likes to sit on my Zip because it is warm. Not me though. This would be a positive response...right?

There are two sides to every story, employment, product problems, technical support problems. We also must take into account the cultural differences between the United States and Malaysia. Although it may me hard for us to relate, this is the way life goes....

The Biggest problem is when the focus is on the negative a la shorts.

Hmmm...what was the question??? ;)

Linda
