The illegal immigration equation is complicated by the fact that in an age of high labor costs, a lot of people have a quietly vested interest in letting a certain number of illegals through. Where else will career women get their maids? Who else will pick fruits and vegetables, and do other work at minimal cost. How many times have we unknowingly supported illegal migration by buying goods which are made cheaper by the use of low-cost illegal labor?
