"CDMA2000 will be deployed in Korea by the end of this year and will be five times faster than EDGE which is scheduled for deployment two years from now. The Qualcomm advantage grows larger with every new generation. --GG"

Jim and Thread- Continuing on the EDGE discussion, I found the above from GG quite interesting. From what I read, EDGE is supposed to start trials in a couple of months. CDMA2000(1x or IS2000) may be in trials currently.

CDMA2000(1x or IS2000) is only capable of data in the 200 Kbps range. EDGE should be in the 250 Kbps range.

The "five times" faster than EDGE technology, "CDMA(3x)," is not supposed to start trials until around mid 2001 and is a stationary(?) technology.

Does anyone have any comments concerning GGs message or the accuracy of mine? I just picked mine up from general reading and have no idea of it's validity. -MikeM(From Florida)
