<.most money managers will btw. admit privately that they see the bubble for what it is, but at the same time profess to have 'no choice' but to participate in it.> The CFA program has for years been wringing it's hands over the increased use of year to year performance comparisions let along 1/4 by 1/4 that we see now... their warning that such performance criteria is dangerous has been promptly ignored AND RIGHTLY SO by anyone trying to increase assets under management as their primary goal... unfortunately that must be the goal of any manager looking to better his bottom line in the mainstream investment community [ie. non-hedgefund].
