Add up the life of the individual inconveniences over the span of the building's use-life, and the architect will not get out of jail in this fucking millenium.
It's not just unnecessary inconvenience
~ it's old people getting injured; here, it's ~ people getting SOAKED with their mail, running and falling; actual injuries from wet floors 300 feet long; with blind-maze corners to turn;
~ misplaced and inadequate doors;
~ the same number of SERVICE WINDOWS as in the one they vacated; with no visible room for expansion;
~ mail slots that are SO NARROW letters must be inserted INDIVIDUALLY;
~ the parking lot being on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the building from the Business End of the post office;
~the drive by boxes being INACCESSIBLE and having traffic patterns that jam the lot entrance;
~ the parking lot paper-designed at half scale and paper designed for an espresso booth instead of a central business (fortunately the employees can walk right in from their fenced-off parking);
~ there are NO external cues as to how the building is arranged, and the "presentation" is that of butt-raping cellular isolation upon entrance and gee you might want to run while you still have your mail;
~ they built an expensive and functionless arcade of brick and composite plastics, surrounding the building, here in the 65 inches-of-rain capital ~ AND DIDN'T COVER IT; ~
WHO ARE THESE BASTARDS?
Like I said, I believe in accounting all of that, over all of the people, over the life of the building, they way THEY SHOULD HAVE accounted it as they designed it, and charging the architect and supervisors for it. With electrical prods. Electrodes. Give me permission, and I will be happy to round them up, in a truck, on a rainy day, and slam them against the cattle rack a few times. Perhaps their consideration and performance will improve.
I'm not kidding.
What is their EXCUSE for these things? Am I MISTAKEN on these FACTS? Are they not OBVIOUS?
I think this should be an actaul crime.
