I just realized why AMD's stock may be so sluggish the last few weeks. About 30 days ago, First Call revised the consensus EPS estimates for 2000 and 2001. For the first time AMD was shown making more $ in 2000 than 2001. Currently the consensus EPS estimate for 2000 is $4.86; for 2001 its $4.42.

I am sure the 2001 estimate reflects the resumption of tax payments. Nonetheless until that shows improvement YOY, I think AMD's stock price will be stuck in the current range. I hope that Sanders provides some guidance in July.
