Implats is helping out MMIN in Sudbury. Platexco is Canadian, but their PGE property is in South Africa BIC- proven and probable reserves of 62.5 million tonnes averaging 5.54 gpt (The Canadian Mines Handbook doesn't say what) or 11 million ounces of PGE. Impala held 20% of Platexco in 1999, according to The Canadian Mines Handbook. Platexco was supposed to complete a bankable feasibility study last year. Platexco is a sure thing- not a fly by night junior with a few grams PGEs in a few holes <g>. Just think about it for 1 second- C$191 million is cheap for something worth 4 billion US$ or more LOL.

I guess with PGEs prices being so strong, and PGEs being so rare in this world it won't much matter where you can get them- get them where you can at any cost. I'll be surprised to see some new producers outside of SAf and Russia come out of the woodwork in the next 5 years. Maybe these newbies will become producers in 10 or so <g>.
