Something for the NO INFLATION department. The Financial Observer a local NYC paper June 12 edition. Robin Williams bought an 2850 sqf apartment at 271 Central Park West, for $2.325 million, in 1994, Sold same apartment on May 16, 2000 for $9 million. Gain 387% US Government reported inflation during this period? around 17% lets even say 22% over 5.5 years. Yep there is no inflation. Go figure. SPX in 1994 was around 450 to 460 now 1400 - 1440. Gain 310% so stocks are the best investmetn for the long term? I DO NOT THINK SO ........ you can not live in a "stock certificate" or even use it or enjoy it. Haim
