Seahawks lineman Tobeck out six to eight months

May 5, 2000

KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -- Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Robbie Tobeck will be out for six to eight months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn tendon in his left knee.

He tore the tendon Tuesday during a workout at team headquarters in this Seattle suburb and had the surgery Thursday.

``It's a shame that this has happened,'' coach Mike Holmgren said. ``But we must move forward.''

Tobeck signed to a five-year, $6.8 million contract in March. He was projected as a starter either at center or right guard. Tobeck spent his first six seasons in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, starting the last two at center.
