The effect on earnings of a $50 to $75 ASP drop can be pretty dramatic - just ask AMD, they learned the hard way.

I am not sure if there is going to be any drop in Intel's ASPs. Intel has cut the number of Celeron and boosted the number of Coppermines, which under the shortage conditions would have a dramatic increase on overall ASPs. If you combine it with slight erosion from losing the high end, Intel may still come out ahead with ASPs.

What is Intel's ASP anyway? I seem to recall it is slightly below $200.
