Arthur, the sense I get is that corporate management is very creative and enthusiastic, but the model fails when the "troops" don't share those values. Consistent slothly checkout is another reason that I don't like to shop at Ames. Walmart just gets better and better, in product selection, price, and employee competence. I sense that customers just don't like Ames because of the poor service. IMO if it weren't for "Old Folks Tuesday" Ames would be in real trouble. Ames may already be on the critical list, but doesn't know it.
