What this means is WCDMA is DOA without QCOM. They can tie it up for years while CDMA2000 takes the market.

The manufacturers know the deal...

This appears directed at the carriers, a warning they could get tangled up in this if their vendors aren't licensed. Being under the employ of a carrier, I believe it is something that would be considered and not taken lightly.

This issue has been out there for a long time. What's the big deal? If any corp disagrees, challenge it, but enough of the pussyfooting around; ie whining, crying, renaming it and claiming its mine, and general piss-ant revelations of ownership.
