I like it scumbria "almost no resemblance". AMD were given a limited licence under the second source agreement. The licence expired. The govt intervened and forced Intel to share their intellectual property with AMD. To say "It had nothing to do with the government" is - to use your word - ridiculous. And, BTW, I have no position in RMBS. Yahoo is best for those, like you and certain others on this thread on both sides of the RMBS fence, that have an extreme view and distort facts to make a point.
