QCOM already blinked....several times. Even the most rabid of QCOM fanatics conceded that the bid for a 3G license in Japan was a sign of desperation. Sure, DDI eventually agreed to moving to CDMA2000 in 2002 -- a full year behind Docomo's rollout of WCDMA -- but another round of component shortages due to faster than expected growth in wireless and optoelectronics as well as the 64-bit Itanium upgrade cycle then..........LOL.
