Yeah, it's deja vu all over again.
I thought that term "application management software" sounded kind of vague too. Citrix really exists in a software classification of it's own, having only minimal viable competition inside that classification. When software companies reach a certain level of dominance and become the standard, they are likely to be replaced only by some discontinuity. Since I think it highly unlikely that MSFT would produce a disruption, I'm not worried about them. What worries me is the rate of adoption of the whole thin client concept. Will it turn out to be a niche? Actually, I think it will, but it will be a big niche, providing plenty of room for growth for CTXS.
