Scumbria... As far as Carl goes, I have never seen him intentionally post inaccurate information. Some of the longs get very upset about things Carl says, but they rarely have been able to refute his arguments. Isn't it amazing that two or more people can read the same post and have a different opinion of what the poster was trying to say? I'm not saying that Carl is a bad guy (cough, cough) but since I don't know how to tune the fiddle I have to rely on the input from all those with technical knowledge, and there has been many different opinions to what Carl has said. I can see a case where DRDRAM becomes an important technology for 2GHz+ CPUs. For now, SDRAM provides enough bandwidth, better latency, and a much lower cost. No one needs DRDRAM right now. A lot of people will agree with you and many won't. While DRDRAM may (and I say may) not be needed right now I think there is much more on the drawing board regarding DRDRAM that we have not yet seen. And the faster we make the transition to DRDRAM the better for technology, Intel, Rambus, etc., etc. It has been said by those that oppose Rambus technolgy that it is not evolutionary, but rather revolutionary. Which to me means to milk the present way of doing things until they are forced to accept change. Just as the candle makers and oil lamp manufacturers opposed the light bulb... making that change was too revolutionary. Think about it.
