Here is a link to someone who claims to have been in Computex for 5 days, and saw that elusive creature. the 1.4 GHz Thunderbird. He didn't say how it was cooled, but since AMD demoed it, I'd bet it wasn't a Kyro.

He also has some other good info:

his week Computex was a major victory for AMD over Intel. Intel really failed everything they
tried:
- Xeon recall due to motherboard availability
- PIII GHz availability (there were several in the show but only for demo)
- Timna delay six months
- Caminogate recall
- Neither Abit nor MSI ship ANY RDRAM boards now
- No one wants to hear RDRAM
- Willamette got little or no attention
- 815 is way overpriced, but everyone had a board (sales not expected to be good)

AMD had everything right in the show:
- Tbirds all over the place and they were all Ghz! Both VIA and AMD had 1.4GHz demos (note that the
one in VIA booth didn't work, seems to be mobo problem, not VIA)
- Several companies had many KT133 designs
- VIA, SiS and ALI showing Athlon chipsets, both integrated and non-integrated VGA
- Huge push for DDR
- However no Durons...

VIA will be late for the DDR chipset, seems to be behind Ali and SiS.

Ali was the only company with a DDR chipset, but they had virtually no design wins...

SiS was impressive this time, sorry that their fab is having terrible yields which is upsetting
everyone here for months.
