Hey look: the money supply figures appear almost rational again: bog.frb.fed.us The last time things slowed down like this was (if I recall correctly) about September, 1998. This time there's no LTCM or Y2K to scare Greenspan. Nothing but exuberance. For the time being. No one knows what the real termite damage is down there in the infrastructure.
