Ah I see, answer a question with a question... ok
It's interesting to see how often my questions go unanswered when engaged in a topic. Does it seem unreasonable to you to get clarification regarding such an ill defined term before answering it?
Sure... That's why CURRENTLY people are starving, they FOR SURE are MISGUIDED given the fact that they continue to have children, regardless of how starved they are.
People starve for a variety of reasons unrelated to population levels. Mostly the reasons center around a lack of economic freedom. Can you tell me why people in Japan enjoy such a high level of prosperity if population density is such an all embracing factor? Oh sorry, that's a question and questions can only be asked in one direction.
What ? you mean "re-distribution" of wealth ? or... "policing" of other people's choices how to run their affairs ? Or, Interference on other countries politics ?
Hmm I guess I must be "misguided" since frankly I do not know how you would suggest that said wealthy nations would "focus" their energy towards the less wealthy.
Lots of "ifs" here...
I mean economic freedom. Where dictators don't control the destiny of free enterprise, where wars and their deleterious effects are missing. Where land can be owned and traded with a minimum amount of government intervention. Where businesses can be started up by the smallest of entrapaneurs, allowed to prosper, grow and recieve the benefits of their hard work. And where laws support these activities. There is much wealthy nations can do in order to bring about these kinds of changes in poor nations. Education, international pressure to those who abuse aid, financial aid linked to incentives, open and free trade, as well as many more.
So, given the fact that ifsuch poor countries were to learn how to effectively use their economic resources, then, the world could easily support 9 bill plus human beings, then forget overpopulation, let's go and populate the world NOW... since... one of this centuries people will become more efficient and capable of maintaining a higher standard of living for all.
Becoming condescending and ridiculous seems to happen quite a bit here when assumptions are challenged. Population control alone may help alleviate some problems related to starvation. But I don't believe it's the root cause. The root cause relates more toward a lack of economic freedom. Furthermore, unless educated people start recognizing and addressing poverty in real, sustained, multi-tiered ways, instead of cliche's such as "Quit having babies" third world nations will continue to suffer needlessly.
