This is what I received in my E-mail from AMD today:

---
Dear AMD Reseller channel member:

We just wanted to inform you of the latest news in the transition from the ?classic? AMD Athlon? processor to the new
revision of the AMD Athlon processor update that will include 256KB of full-speed, on-die L2 cache.

At this time, we believe that quantities of the classic AMD Athlon processor will be running dry in the channel by the end
of the quarter (Q2). What that means to you, in the transition from slot to socket, is that Resellers should keep an eye on
their motherboard quantities for the classic chip. Be sure not to overstock.

Also keep in mind, the AMD-K6©-2 processor is still selling like hot cakes and may soon be available only in limited
volume.

While we're all waiting for the new revision of the AMD Athlon processor to get fully ramped up and available, we'd also
like to remind you that AMD's new kid on the block, the AMD Duron? processor, should be readily available very
soon. Customers who want dependable value from a workhorse chip will find what they need in an AMD Duron
processor-based system. Combining innovative architectural features that help prolong the life of your investment, the
AMD Duron processor stands out in its class. Your most demanding value-sensitive customers will have an outstanding
new option for performance and cost-effectiveness.

We'll be updating you with new information as it comes.

Thanks again for being a valuable part of our AMD family.
