Imagine this situation, and tell me honestly what you would do.

You are a doctor in a poor country. A woman walks into your clinic. She is 25, but could pass for 40. She is six weeks pregnant. She suffers from moderate malnutrition, not starving, but serious vitamin and protein deficiencies. She is infected with several varieties of parasites, and suffers from one or more chronic illnesses. She has had four children in six years. Her husband shows up every few months, always on her payday. She works 10 hour days, six a week, in a garment factory, while a young relative, also her dependent, cares for her children. If she completes her pregnancy, there is a very substantial chance of serious illness or death. She cannot afford anything beyond the most rudimentary medical care. If she misses work for more than two days she will lose her job.

You have no power to alter any of her circumstances.

She wants an abortion.

What do you do?
