I believe we'll know if the class action has any merit when the result of the special study is released being conducted by the auditors. Right now shareholders are in the dark.

Personally, I do not believe that the stated reason in the class action suit has any merit. I don't believe that the restatement of 1997 revenue was the reason for the drop. I believe the reason for the drop was the concern for capitalization of expenses, the primary focus [supposedly] for the current study, and what else comes to light.

I believe that Vari-L's share price will remain depressed until the results of this study and its impact on reporting periods can be assessed. Further, a statement relating to the SEC inquiry is also in order.

I think that the filing of the class-action suit is premature until these results are known, and the lawyers are merely fishing here looking for $$$ from our company, Vari-L. Regardless of the results, the attorneys will likely get $$$ from Vari-L in settlement. The typical financial reward to shareholders, if any, will be nominal at best.
