To reinforce your point to Michael, let me embellish. I recall being taught, as a small child, about the priority given to babies in Catholic hospitals. I recall being scared to death at the prospect of giving birth in one. We were taught that if there were ever a situation where both the mother and baby could not be saved, the hospital would save the baby. It didn't matter what the patient wanted or even if the patient were Catholic. The mother was expendable. Now that makes an impression on a little girl!
