Since, in my opinion, the fiber-derived power would never be called upon for use for everyday applications, except in the form of backup powering in electrical utility outages, it really wouldn't matter, would it? Whatever was more cost effective.. I would think, purely on a dollars and cents basis. Although I've not really thought this out, nor have I taken into account the different permutations of field node configurations that are possible, and where those may be going in the future. IOW, I don't know enough about the future possibilities that may evolve to give you an informed answer. BTW, is there a working group addressing these issues anywhere at this time, such as in the IEEE, the ITU or ISO, ANSI, or eslewhere? |
