Jim -

[[Thanks for the chuckle, Don. Libertarianism is kinda cool, ain't it? It can be just about anything you want it to be. As a conservative, I see a need for government, but one as specified by the Constitution, not the behemoth we now live with. I suppose more radical Libertarians could call for total anarchy and still be called Libertarian.
The term itself is so loosly defined that I seriously doubt there will ever be a Libertarian candidate that "Libertarians" (whoever they may be) can rally behind. Ain't ambiguity great? <g>]]

Actually, my perception is just the opposite. All of the quoted areas would seem to me to be generally at, or near the core of Libertarianism. While variations of opinion on some subjects certainly exist, Libertarianism is far more consistent in principle than 'conservatism' or 'liberalism', IMO.

The quote itself seems to come from an Objectivist POV, judging from other content on the site, which seems a little bit too doctrinaire and hair-splitting for my taste.

Regards, Don
